New commission piece


Okay, so last Wednesday I was approached about a piece as a birthday present for the pastor at a local (but worldwide) church.  The idea sounded good, but the birthday was to be on Sunday.  Very short time span.  Anyway, not being afraid of a challenge, I agreed to do the piece.  We jointly came up with the concept of reaching out to the world, and using the church’s diversity symbol.  Then I worked nonstop for three days to get this done.  This is a good size piece, 24×48, so there was a lot to do.  I really wanted the hands to be sharp and detailed, so I took a lot of time on them.  I think the result is pretty good, and the piece got a lot of attention at the Factory before the church picked it up.  Thanks to them for the commission.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net
