Well, I think this one’s done.  I finished out the first floor and did the reflections on the street.  So it’s ready to go to Farmers Bank.  I’ve got another one with a horizontal orientation sketched out, so I’ll do that as well.  I’ve give more information about the Farmers Bank grand opening as it gets closer.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

Here’s the next stage on the Franklin Theatre piece.  At this point, the whole thing is blocked in, and the upper facade is pretty much done.  The detail work will continue, as you will see.  The early stages are going pretty well, so stay tuned.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

I got the chance to work on this figure all day yesterday, and was able to finish it.  I called it “Supplication.”  The light is really nice on the figure, and the pose is terrific.  This one is a 9×12, and I’ll get it in a nice frame and take it to In The Nude II on February 18th, unless someone gets it first.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

The Second Annual “In the Nude” show at The Building at Five Points in East Nashville is coming up on February 18th.  I’ll be in the show again this year.  I’m working on a couple of new paintings to go along with a couple of nudes that I have finished.  This is the first layer on one of the new ones.  So far, I really like the look.  More as this progresses.  Make plans to come out to the show; it was a big hit last year.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

Here’s the final on the portrait of the baby.  The photo does not get the translucence of her skin.  I have over 40 glaze layers on her skin that make her look alive.  I think she turned out well.  Hopefully, my client will agree.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

I’ve gotten the opportunity to do some work for Farmers Bank in Franklin.  This is the drawing for a piece of the Franklin Theatre that the bank will use at it’s new branch in May.  I was out in the rain taking photos of the theatre to use, and it was a lot of fun.  Now on to the painting.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

It’s the first Friday of the month, so it’s the Franklin Art Scene Tour of the Arts.  The Factory particpates, as well as the other art galleries in Franklin.  The difference at my studio is that the work is there, in progress, for everyone to see.  I’ll have light refreshments and lots of art, both completed and in process, so come on out from 6 to 9.  Parking is free, and for a nominal fee you can take the trolley to other locations all night.  See you Friday.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net
