Demonstration Piece for Class

Here’s a little number I worked up as a demonstration for my class at Studio G in Hendersonville.  This was to demonstrate complimentary color underpainting.  That means that the first layer of color was the compliment of the final color.  So the apples were green, the grapes red, the pear red and so on.  Then the subsequent layers of color glaze over that and the end result is a luminous piece.  Seems like a lot of work, but it’s worth it.  This is just a demonstration piece and isn’t finished, but it looks pretty cool.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net
