“Coil” - new acrylic abstract painting

Here is a new abstract I completed this week.  I had done a lot of the background some time ago, and finally finished it.  I’ve called it “Coil,” based on the coil form in the lower middle of the piece.  The coil seems to be interacting with the warmer orange shapes, which appear more organic.  The colors are good and deep.  Like most of the abstracts, this was done on unprimed canvas, so there are many deep layers of color in the piece.  It’s a 20×36, so it’s pretty good sized but not overwhelming.  Price will be $295, gallery wrapped.  Come by and see it at the studio at the Factory in Franklin.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net
