Here’s another really nice floral piece that I’ve got in the big 40% off sale. This one has a really good sense of the flowers receding into the darkness of the background. It’s a 16×20 in a very nice frame. This one would also make a great addition to a room or office. Next Friday is the Franklin Art Tour, and will be the end of the sale, so take action now. These are all original pieces, and when this one is gone, there will never be another. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s an interesting piece that attracts a lot of attention. Titled “Red Sky” this one has a unique raised border around the outside. The painting wraps up and over the raised edge, which makes it very unique. The colors are strong, but would look really striking in a neutral room. There is also a good bit of texture in the painting, and the roots and bark actually feel like, well, roots and bark. This one would make a great addition to your home or office. Now on sale; pick it up and help me not move it to East Nashville. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s a painting I still can’t believe no one has taken home. This is a striking floral, with deep contrasts between the softness of the petal colors and the rich almost black of the background. The calla lily looks almost transparent, The little fine details are perfectly rendered. This is a 16×20, with a white linen liner in a beautiful frame. This is a really stunning piece. Take this home now during the big sale. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s another little piece that’s in the big moving sale. This one is a very soft and appealing landscape. Called “Late in the Evening,” this one has a really nice sky and soft trees. It’s an 18×18, so it’s a good middle size, and it’s in a very nice frame. This one would really make your room or office look great. These paintings are the kind that you can look at everyday and see something you like. Contact me for pricing and pick up. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s another piece that really needs to stay in Franklin. This is the second of the Franklin Theatre night scene paintings I did. The first was a grand opening prize for Farmer’s & Merchants Bank. This one is still available, and is framed nicely. It’s a medium size, 16×20, and would make a great painting for an office in Franklin. Everything is on sale for 40% off, so now’s the time to get this painting. Contact me for pricing and details. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
The big Moving Sale ends two weeks from today. All original paintings are 40% off, including this one, “Flight.” All my paintings are the originals, since I almost never make copies, so they are the one and only one that will ever exist. This makes them truly unique, and something to treasure for years. Come on out to the studio at The Factory in Franklin and take home an original at a great price. Or contact me for shipping information. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
I already posted the first stage of this portrait, but I wanted to show them with the faces and hands basically done. Someone told me this looked kind of creepy, which I thought was cool. The thing I always tell my students is you have to see in your mind’s eye the entire painting as it will be. So for me, I already see it finished. Try to see it done as you look at this. Otherwise, just enjoy the creepy effect. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s the finished painting of a cute little girl and her toy. This little pup is Tuffy, and she is a very pretty dog. I had a good photo to work from, and was able to get a really appealing pose. According to her people, she really likes that doll, so I included it in the portrait. She was fun to paint, and her people were very happy with the finished product. Now’s a good time to get your pet partner painted. (Say that last phrase three times really fast.) jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s the start of another puppy painting. There are three guys in this one. In this stage of the painting, I’ve got two of the guys roughed in, and the eyes and nose of the third. These guys are really cute, so it should be a fun painting to finish. I’ll get to work on these more this week, so stay tuned. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Well, today I make it official. After six years at the Factory in Franklin, I am moving. After the September 7 Franklin Art Tour, I’ll start moving to the Idea Hatchery at Five Points in East Nashville. I have leased a space at the Idea
