Here’s the first announcement for the upcoming Martin Masters Show at the Fifty Forward Martin Masters Center in Brentwood. The show is the first weekend in November, with the preview party Thursday night, November 3. The show then runs November 4 and 5. This was a very good show last year, and promises to be a great one this year. The show also supports the Center, so it’s for a good cause. Check out the invitation and plan on coming and taking home some great art. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s the underdrawing for a new pet portrait of Angel. No to put on the color and get her fur, and she’ll be done. This is the best time to make orders for pet portraits for Christmas. If I get those orders in now, I can guarantee Christmas delivery. If you wait until December, it gets a little dicey. Contact me now for the pet portraits. They make wonderful Christmas presents. All I need is a photo. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s a piece I did a couple of months back for a client. This was based on the view out my clients’ back property. I changed it a little, of course, but it’s bascally a way to put their outside inside and make their home reflect the area they live in. I really enjoy taking folks’ ideas and turning them into an actual vision. Contact me to discuss your ideas and how we can bring them to life together. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s the first of the two tropical scenes I’ve recently done. This one had boats and no birds, but the palm trees are a consistent theme. I like them both; they are quite different yet the same basic subject matter. That makes for fun paintings: to arrange the world the way I want it to be. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s the drawing for a new landscape piece I’m starting. This is a dock on a lake with the sunset over the far shore hills. The trees are bare, and the sun is really warm and orange. It should be a good setting for a nice painting. The blue dot is tape over where the sun will be. That way, the sun will be over the white of the canvas and stay nice and bright. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s the final on the big tropical scene I was working on. I detailed out the flowers and the macaws, and made the palm tree a little taller. It has a good feel to it. Hopefully, my client will like it. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s a reminder about tonight’s event in Franklin. The Franklin Art Scene Downtown Tour of the Arts is a great opportunity to view wonderful art and take home something that will brighten your life. It’s also just a lot of fun. There are over a dozen gallerys and venues to visit and see art, with lots of light refreshments on the journey. Come on out tonight from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and enjoy! jcannon1@bellsouth.net
This Friday is the second Franklin Art Scene tour in Downtown Franklin, Tennessee. The first event last month was a huge success, and we expect this one to be even better. There will be a tour of the gallerys in Franklin, including mine in the Factory. Each studio will have light refreshments, and lots of art. For $5 you can ride the Franklin trolley to all the studios, and just have a great time. Come on out from 6 to 9 Friday and have fun and take home a piece of art to enhance your world. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Since I was at the Christ the King Show all weekend, I have not gotten to work on anything new. So here’s a calla lilly piece I did a little bit ago. I am putting it in a new frame and mounting for this Friday’s Franklin Art Scene event, so it will have a fresh look when you come by. Make plans to come to the Franklin Art Scene event this weekend and enjoy the art. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s the finished version of the painting I first showed last Tuesday. I added more details to the trees and the foreground flowers. It turned out quite well. This one is a 12×16, so not too big. It would make a great addition to your home or office. It’s the kind of landscape you could look at and enjoy for years to come. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
