Here’s the final version of “Synapses.” I added a few more details here and there, and adjusted the color. Since the idea is that these synapses are growing and healing, I made sure there are several areas that seem to be just getting started, and that they are all reaching out to each other. Hopefully, this will be helpful to A Mighty Voice, and ultimately helpful to the children. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Welcome to my new friends at the Factory, Double Barrel Cigars. The store’s goal is to be a place for gentlemen to settle in and relax while the family shops, or to just relax. This very cozy little corner now has my best figure painting, “Braid,” hanging. Thanks to Mandy and Phillip for showcasing this piece. Come down and visit them. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
I was asked to particpate in a fundraiser for A Mighty Voice, to benefit children’s motor neuron diseases on October 1. So here’s the piece in process, “Synapses.” I still have some more to do, but this is turning out pretty cool. It’s got the deep box sides so it looks slightly shadow boxed, as well as the fact that the painting goes up and over the sides. It’s also pretty large. Stay tuned for more on the piece and the fundraiser. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s the start on a new seascape. This one is for a client from his photo. The start is very soft, as is the reference photo. I’m pleased with the way it’s opening up. This one may take awhile, though, since I really need to get quite a bit of movement into the water. More to come. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Sorry about the problem Friday. I made the mistake of “upgrading” my browser, which really meant that nothing worked. I took off the “upgrade” and now everything works fine again. Anyway, here’s the final version of the “Calla Lily” I had been working on. It turned out quite well. It’s a very beautiful floral, and I have it in a great frame. This one will bring you hours of pleasure just looking at it. Contact me to purchase. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
I got a chance to work some on the new floral piece yesterday. The blooms are just about done. I’ll still need to work on highlights and any adjustments when the background goes on. Otherwise, this one should be done by tomorrow’s Christmas in July event. Come on out and get the newest piece of art from my studio. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
It’s a little funny how these things seem to work in cycles. I did a bunch of pet portraits back around Christmas, but have not done one since. Seems it may be time to do some more, so any of you out there who want pet portraits need to send me a photo to work from. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
The Factory is having it’s first annual Christmas in July event this weekend. We will have an Art PM event in conjunction with the rest of the merchants. Come on out this Friday night for fun and art. During these uncertain times having a new image in your home or office would brighten up things tremendously. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Well I finally got back to work and started on a couple of paintings. Here’s one that is just started and may be going pretty well. It’s three calla lily blooms. So far the blooms are about 50%, but you can see they are going to have good form already. Stay tuned for this one. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
