2010 March
Tonight’s the night for the Define Your Wine event at the Aloft Hotel in Franklin. This is a benefit for the Mercy Childrens Clinic, so a portion of the proceeds for the art will go to the clinic. Mercy Childrens Clinic provides needed and often life saving care for the underserved community. Please come out, have some wine, buy some art, and support a great organization. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
I wound up doing three of these Tuscan landscape pieces for my classes. This is the second one. Similar but different from the first one I posted a couple of days ago. This one is a little looser still, and has a good feel to it. This one is also smaller, 8×10, and I’ll get it framed once I’m sure it’s dry. (These thick paint paintings take a while to dry well.) Come by and see it next week. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s a reminder about Wednesday night at Aloft Hotel in Franklin. This will be a wine tasting event and an opportunity to buy art to benefit Mercy Children’s Clinic. The art is all in the new technique I’ve been working on, and is really cool and modern. The clinic is a great cause, so come on out and have some fun and take the art home. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
My classes at Westhaven have really gotten into knife painting. That’s applying the paint in thick layers with a painting knife instead of a brush. So we all did a Tuscan landscape piece last week, and I did this one for them as a demonstration. Turned out pretty well. This is an 11×14 and I’ll get it framed next week (after it dries) and offer it for sale at the studio. Contact me for pricing and delivery options. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s the invitation to the Aloft Hotel event next Wednesday, March 31st from 5:30 to 7:30. There will be wine and such, and the art. This is to benefit Mercy Children’s Clinic, so come on out, have a good time, drink some wine and buy some art. See you there. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s another one you’ve seen before, “Birth.” This is also featured at the Aloft Hotel show, and will be part of the event on March 31st to benefit the Mercy Children’s Clinic. Come on out and take a piece of art home (or to the office) and help out a great cause. More on that as it approaches. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Under the weather yesterday, so nothing new. This is the four part forest set that is currently the centerpiece of the Aloft Hotel show. There will be another event at Aloft on March 31 to benefit Mercy Children’s Clinic. More when I get the actual invitation. In the meantime, this piece is available there, but it may not be after the 31st. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
I got to work on this one more over the weekend. The details are starting to come out. Still a lot to do, but it’s working. More as these develop. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s the finished block in on one of the figure portraits I’m working on. The other one is in progress and should be done soon. Now I can start working on the details to make this a really striking piece. More as it develops. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
I’ve been working back and forth on the three portrait/figure pieces I’ve got going on. Here’s an update on the portrait of the young people. It’s starting to take shape. There is still a lot to do to finalize the face details and do the background. More as this develops. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
