I had a busy Saturday with students and such, so I did not get a lot of painting done. I did get the first layer on the Harlinsdale Farms weathervane. This will be dry shortly, and I’ll get the second layer on the weathervane and then put in a sky. I’m thinking a big sky. We’ll see what comes out. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
I’ve gotten an opportunity to do some pieces for the Heritage event coming up September 26. The featured location is Harlinsdale Farms, and this is the drawing for the first piece. It’s the weathervane on the horse barn. I really like all the angles and such. More on this as it progresses. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s the final on the Canna piece I’ve shown earlier. I added more waterdrops and the background. This is an acrylic on illustration board. It’s an 11×14, and I’m getting it in a frame later today, so it will be at the studio and ready to take home by this afternoon. Come see it or contact me. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
It occured to me it would be nice to show how my paintings look in the “real world.” This piece was posted before by itself. It is a fairly large painting of my client’s wedding bouquet. The painting turned out really well, and to see it in the setting it was intended for gives you a real taste of how the paintings add to your world. This is the point of the art: to have it where you see it everyday, and get that good feeling when you look at it. This is why I paint and why you should buy art. It just adds so much to your world. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
While this is not the best photo of this piece, here is a landscape I’m working on for a client. This is from a photo of the client fishing in Colorado. This is about half way through the piece. I still have a lot of work on the water and the rocks under the water in the foreground. That will come this week. This is a large piece, 40×40, and is really going to be dramatic when finished. Contact me about creating an original art piece for your home. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here is a progress report on a new acrylic floral I started. “Canna” is an 11×14 acrylic on illustration board. I have the left side of the plant pretty much finished. The right leaf is not finished, and I still have to add all the water drops and the background, or course. I included a detail of a water drop so you can see how they will look in the finished piece. I’m going to put this is a nice warm toned frame, and it should look terrific. More as it progresses. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Thanks for the few days off. I really needed a break. Now it’s back to work. Here is a drawing for a new painting. These guys are for a client. They actually have more dogs than I do. So this will be the portraits of the pups. I’ll post more on this as it progresses. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Just a Note; I’ll be off until Friday. Have a good week.
Here is the third and final painting of the magnolia blossum. This series started with the pencil drawing, then the watercolor, now this, which is acrylic on Bainbridge board. This one is more realistic, and has a great feel to it. It’s an 18×14, which I will frame out with a liner to 16×20. This is a really stunning painting. Price framed will be $295. This is one that should go fast. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
Here’s today’s Daily Painting. “Canna #2″ is another piece from the beautiful red canna on our back deck. This is a 5×7 oil on canvas board. Flat price of $50 including tax and shipping. Go to my ebay store to purchase (link on this page). Thanks for your support. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
