This is a new abstract piece titled “Peacocks.” It has a lot of texture and color. It is 24×36, gallery wrapped. It is hanging in the new space for the Frisky Berry coffee house in the Factory at Franklin. The coffee house has expanded and is not in the back part of Building 12, next to Stonebridge Gallery. Come by and see the piece and get a good cup of coffee. Price is $425. jcannon1@bellsouth.net

This is the first draft on Albert, my big orange cat. I posted the drawing a little while ago, and finally go the first coat down on him. Now I’ll go back and do the details and the background. Straigten up his face a little. Right now he looks a little crooked. More later. jcannon1@bellsouth.net

This is the final version of Sweet 16th. I punched up the details some and got more graduation in the light. Sorry I have not put up much new stuff lately. The redesign of the studio got me behind in new work. I did stretch about 10 canvases yesterday and got some undercoating done, so I should have new stuff pretty soon. Stay tuned. jcannon1@bellsouth.net

The remodel is done, pretty much. I may tweak a bit of stuff here and there, but mostly this is how the studio/gallery looks now. On the left side, I have put in a new counter that functions as a business counter and a side table for painting. I have also built new walls for hanging work and defining a better storage space. I have a new rack for displaying loose pieces. All in all, I think this is a good new look. I will be having a Grand Reopening on March 7 & 8. There will be refreshments and enterntainment on the evening of March 7, from 6-9, so make plans to attend. jcannon1@bellsouth.net

I confess I’ve been really busy all week remodeling the studio. I’ve completely redone it, and am pretty much finished. I still have to set up the coffee pot and clear out a little more clutter, but that’s just a few minutes. So the bottom line is that I have not been painting all week, except with a roller. So this is an old piece, “Waterfall.” I had done it for a commission, but it didn’t work in the space, so it’s now in my living room. However, it is still for sale. $350 for the piece. Also, there will be a grand re-opening at the Factory on the first Friday in March. Look for more on that soon. jcannon1@bellsouth.net

This is a three panel piece I just did for Dr. David Mason in Franklin. Called “Profusion 1, 2 and 3,” it’s a pretty big piece. Each panel is 24×36, and it covers his waiting room wall. The colors are coordinated with his decor, and match up with a beautiful slate water feature. His office is pretty modern, and this piece really works well in the room. For consultation on decor pieces, contact me. jcannon1@bellsouth.net

This is pretty much the final version of “Sweet 16th.” To refresh, this is a wonderful bakery down on the court of 16th and Ordway in East Nashville. Dan and Ellen make the most incredible fresh pastries and sandwiches. They are also wonderfully nice people, and the shop is kind of a neighborhood institution. So I am doing this for them, for thanks. Go by and visit and get a brownie. You will be happy you did. jcannon1@bellsouth.net

This is the other of the small Smokey Mountain pieces. “Mountain Church.” It has a pretty good feel to it, and has good depth. My plan is to do the two as a set, and framed they would be $225 for both. Come see them at my studio at the Row at the Factory in Franklin. jcannon1@bellsouth.net

Well, I was going to put up that other little landscape, but that can wait. Instead, I am really proud of this. Kimberly Williams-Paisley was in the studio Saturday and purchased the White Mountain piece. She is a delightful person and it was a pleasure meeting her. I have enjoyed her acting for years, and am very proud that she has a work of mine. She has a great website, too, so visit that. jcannon1@bellsouth.net

This is a new little piece, part of a pair of Smokey Mountain scenes. (I’ll post the other one Monday.) This one has a decent aerial perspective and a pretty good sky. This is an 8×10, and will be $150, framed. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
