This is another new landscape piece, called “In the Wind.”  Actually, I don’t think this one is quite done, but almost.  The colors are good in this one, too.  This one is a little larger, 20×30.  Price will be $325.00, framed.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

This is another new landscape piece I just did.  “The Far Trees.”  It has that warm glow that the other pieces I have been doing lately has.  Nice feel to it.  Very soft.  This one is a 12×16.  Framed, it’s $225.00, plus tax. jcannon1@bellsouth.net

across_the_fields.jpg

This is another new one I did over the weekend, “Across the Fields.”  I really think this piece is nice.  Has a great, soft feel to it.  Everyone at the Factory really likes it.  This one is a bit of an odd size, 26×29, and is framed in a nice gold frame.  Price is $600.00, plus tax.  Come out and see it at the Factory.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

happy_cliff.jpg

Merry Christmas!  Thought about skipping this morning, and then thought that maybe a lot of you would be up today, browsing.  So I posted the Christmas present piece I did for a client.  The story is that this is his wife’s childhood home, an historic house called “Happy Cliff.”  It was actually on a cliff.  The house has burned, and is gone.  So this very thoughtful husband got all the photos of it he could find and I put together a painting of the house.  This should be a very well received Christmas present.  Something for all the guys to think about for next year.  Anyway, Merry Christmas.  I hope you all have a day full of warmth and happiness.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

This is the finished version of the piece I posted a few days ago.  I have gotten all the details in and done some more with the contrasts.  Now it has a good warm Italian feel and looks really good.  This is a fairly large piece, 24×36.  Right now it is not framed, so the price is $275.00 unframed.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

rainy_day_second.jpg

Okay, this is the second layer on the “Rainy Day” piece.  I still need to add some details and then get the rain effect in.  I will be working on that today and this weekend, so I should have something more (hopefully finished) by next week.  I am finally coming out of that cold I came down with, so I should be able to get some things done.  Come by the studio for last minute Christmas gifts, including gift certificates for art and/or lessons.  The Factory at Franklin is located at 230 Franklin Road.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

This is another new landscape piece called “By the Woods.”  It has a warm red glow under the foliage and clouds.  Very nice effect.  This is a small piece, 8×10, but looks very good in a dark frame with a deep molding.  Price is $125.00, plus tax.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

rainy_day_sketch.jpgrainy_day_rough.jpg

This is another one I started on Monday.  It’s actually from a photo of me taken in Maine several years ago.  It was a cold, rainy October day.  We were up the coast at a light house, and my wife snapped a photo of me hunched up in the rain.  The finished piece will be kind of misty, showing the rain.  I’ll post more when it’s done.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

out_of_the_fog.jpg

This is a new little piece I did yesterday.  I had a client come in and make the statement that she liked the soft, misty landscapes I used to do.  I have been working on making things tighter lately, a lot more realistic, and kind of got away from these.  So I did this small one to try a few things.  The photo does not do it justice.  I am going to do a few more of these, and larger (this is only a 9×12).  “Out of the Fog.”  Will be priced at $175.00, framed.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net

Here is an update on that Italian scene that I posted last week.  I’ve gotten the first layer of underpainting done, and the left side wall and the top middle are finished.  This is a pretty large piece, 24×36, and I’m doing it in acrylic, with lots of layers, so it is taking a little while.  I’ve come down with a cold, but plan on working on it today, so I should have more to show later.  jcannon1@bellsouth.net
