This is a little watercolor piece. The lighthouse is on Lake Michigan. I’ve done this scene in oil; that one is sold. This one is in watercolor, matted under glass. It’s a nice little piece, 5×7 image, 8×10 framed size. It’s priced at $50.00, plus shipping and tax. Contact me at jcannon1@bellsouth.net.

This one is “Mysterious.” I have done a series of faces. This one has a truly mysterious look. It is oil on canvas, 12×16. Right now it is unframed and priced at $125.00. Contact me at jcannon1@bellsouth.net.

I thought today that rather than put in a piece, I would post a photo of my studio gallery at the Factory in Franklin. The Factory is a unique shopping venue built in a converted factory. Magic Chef stoves were made at the facility for many years. Now it has unique shops and restaurants. The Row at the Factory is a space of five studio areas for working artists. As you can see in the photo, I have my studio space there, and do all my painting and teaching from that location. I also have a pretty good gallery wall as well. I am at the studio from 1-5 on Monday and Wednesday, and 1-6 on Friday and Saturday. I welcome visitors and browsers. The Factory is located at 230 Franklin Road, Franklin, Tennessee. The Row is in the back of the main building. Come by and see us.

This one is “Watching.” I did a series of little paintings for a show here in Nashville. The image is 5×7, and the finished piece, matted under glass, is 8×10. This is actually oil on canvas, but matted and done under glass. That makes quite an interesting presentation. Price is $50.00, plus shipping and tax. Order at jcannon1@bellsouth.net.

This is an interesting piece. I actually did this for my own house. When we moved a month ago, I found there was this awkward L-shaped space in the living room that really needed some color. So I did this piece as a two-part to fit. I liked it so much I did another for sale. The square piece is 18×18 and the long piece is 18×36. They are gallery wraped and wired for hanging. Price is $350.00, incl. shipping, plus tax. Contact me at jcannon1@bellsouth.net.

I have an early morning, so I thought I would go ahead and put this one up for Tuesday. This is a brand new piece, just finished today. “Irises.” This one is really striking. It is acrylic on canvas, 24×30. I don’t have it framed yet, and offer it for $175.00 unframed, plus shipping and tax. Contact me, jcannon1@bellsouth.net.

I’ve been interested in animals lately. Thought this parrott was really beautiful. It’s in acrylic as a watercolor on watercolor paper. I am really pleased with the detail you can get on that surface. This is a small piece, 5×7, but matted and framed out to an 8×10. Price is $50 plus shipping and tax. Contact me at jcannon1@bellsouth.net.

Back on June 2 and 3, we had a big event at the Factory in Franklin where my studio/gallery is located. During the day on Saturday, I thought I would paint an abstract out in the hallway to draw attention (I can be a bit of a ham). I had just started on a piece when a gentleman about my age came up, pushing his mother, who was in a wheelchair. They watched me for a minute, and mom asked “Do you know what that is going to be when you are finished?” I told her I didn’t, and started to talk with them. It became very clear that these two were very close and had a very deep affection for each other. It was also clear that she was fading, while he was still active. So this piece came out of that: the two essences, one warm, one cooling, still attached to each other. This is kind of a portrait of a relationship.
This piece is 16×20, gallery wrapped. Price is $175.00, plus tax and shipping. Contact me at jcannon1@bellsouth.net to purchase. I take all major credit cards and ship UPS.

I have always loved the watercolor look. It seems to work so well with things like flowers. This is a columbine, the state flower of Colorado, although this one was grown here in Tennessee.
This is on paper, matted and framed. The price is $75.00, plus tax and shipping. Contact me. jcannon1@bellsouth.net

“Lady Madonna.” I have been listening to the Beetles lately. June was the 40th anniversary of the release of “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” so I got out my disc. The music is still fresh after four decades. So I wanted to do a piece that was a little evocative of that. The face is so peaceful and placid, but the hair is wild.
This piece is a 12×16 oil on canvas. It is $225.00, framed, incl. shipping, plus tax. Contact me. jcannon1@bellsouth.net
